I took up fly fishing for trout a while ago but I’m still happy to cast a lure or bait when it suits the conditions. It’s all fishing. I enjoy baitdrifting with an old fly rod and Steelite centrepin reel loaded with 6 pound mono. I find most of the trout are hooked in the mouth or at least not deeply and in most cases can be released relatively unharmed.
Excellent little article on the pros and cons of bait versus artificial lures/flies that isn’t snobby or judgemental.

Hey there Mr Starlo,
Just wanted to point out that the link to read the full article is broken, and points to this page. It took me a little while to find the original article on fix.com, and while it was certainly worth the effort, it’d probably be nice to have a direct link.
